Nintendo announced that its new Nintendo Switch Bundle will include Super Mario Odyssey. The announcement was made during its Nintendo Direct video presentation on September 13.
The Japanese gaming company also revealed that its Switch Bundle includes a pair of red Joy-Con resembling Mario’s cap, a limited edition carry case, and digital copy of the game. The company has not disclosed the price yet.
Shiveria, a new world featuring icy locales with frost galore was showcased in the video presentation. Moreover, new levels such as Bubblaine in the Seaside Kingdom will appear in the forthcoming game along with previously announced New Donk City in the Metro Kingdom and Tostarena in the Sand Kingdom.
Nintendo revealed that the progress of Mario depends on the number of power moons he collects. These are collected by simply exploring surrounding areas, solving puzzles, or squaring off against bosses. Collected power moons act as a fuel to his cap-shaped ship, the titular Odyssey that takes him on his adventures.
The Japanese developer added features of a snapshot mode or robust photo mode. This allows gamers to freeze the game, move camera to different angels, and take pictures of their exploits. Furthermore, gamers can also add filters, flip them vertically, and share end results.
The game will be released on October 27, 2017. The release date clashes with the release date of Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. Although it is difficult to determine which game would end up hogging the limelight when they hit the market, Nintendo’s surprise announcement has created buzz among gamers.
New features and new levels in the game would make Mario’s adventures more interesting for gamers.
