Unity Technologies revealed that India reached the third position in game installs across the world on November 9. India has surpassed Brazil and Russia to clinch the third spot from the ninth position held in January 2017.
India rose to the higher position in the overall game installs, thanks to the growing adoption of smartphone devices with better RAM. Within a year, the number of mobile devices with 1GB RAM rose from 31.6 million to 100 million in October 2017.
Quentin Staes-Polet, Director of South Asia Pacific at Unity Technologies, said, “Unity analyzed and studied the ongoing market trends and developments in the Indian mobile industry. We believe the mass adoption of high-end mobile devices will give the Indian gaming ecosystem ample opportunities to innovate and provide compelling content to development platforms.”
