Apple announced that the upgraded iMac Pro will be released on December 14. The price is speculated to be around $4,999.
The “most powerful mac ever made”, as the company calls it, was announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference in June. It will be an upgrade to its Mac Pro, which was released in 2013.
The iMac Pro is equipped with a 27-inch Retina 5K display, one terabyte of storage, which can be increased up to two or four terabytes, and a processor with up to 18 cores. It also has a Space Gray-colored finish and a new dual centrifugal fan system, which can generate more airflow. Additionally, the equipment has a black colored lightening cable to charge its keyboard.
Apple gave an early access to videos of iMac Pro to some of the YouTubers. Marques Brownlee, who is one of the lucky YouTuber users said Final Cut is not enough to attract fans. Craig Hunter posted few performance tests of Apple’s new release on his blog.
Apple also announced HomePod, a Siri-powered high-end speaker at the conference in June. The company plans to delay its release until 2018.
The new iMac Pro will present vivid opportunities to compete against its arch rival, Microsoft. The Washington-based tech giant released its all-in-one computer, the Surface Studio, some time back.
According to consensus, the high-end specifications iMac Pro makes it blazing fast. It would be interesting to see how it fares in the market.
