WhatsApp remains at the top of the most popular messaging platforms to date with billions of people using the app to chat with their contacts. One of the reasons for its popularity is that the regular updates the app offer to constantly refine the experience. The Facebook-owned company always adds new features to its app irrespective of whether it is an Android or iOS platform. Here are the four upcoming features of WhatsApp for Android users:
WhatsApp Dark Mode
The Dark Mode feature in WhatsApp has been in development for a while now. It is nothing but a solution that allows users to conveniently use the app during nighttime and help save battery life up to a certain extent. Available for both Android and iOS, the feature turns the background of the chat interface dark. The application is still under test as the company is adding new enhancements in every new update. Whatsapp might use a dark grey color for the background, white color for sub-texts, and green color for the icons and headings. The Dark Mode application was spotted in the 2.19.82 WhatsApp version for Android beta.
WhatsApp incorporated extra security to the Android beta version by enabling the fingerprint sensor in the phone to unlock the WhatsApp app. Spotted in the 2.19.83 beta update version for Android, the new update is said to be available in the Settings menu > Account section > Privacy. Besides this, users of WhatsApp will be given three options to lock the app immediately, including after one minute, after 10 minutes, or after 30 minutes.
Picture-in-Picture Enhance Mode
The picture-in-picture (PiP) mode by WhatsApp is another feature under works. It basically allows you to view YouTube video in a box hovering over the chat window. This saves you several taps on the recent buttons. WhatsApp also plans to release a new update, where the company will address the limitations and users will be able to play videos even when the app is closed.
WhatsApp Consecutive Voice Messages
WhatsApp also plans to add a consecutive voice messages feature to its messaging platform. The solution lets users play a number of voice messages automatically instead of manually. The feature was spotted in Android 2.19.86 WhatsApp Beta version and is currently under the development phase. It is likely to make its debut soon.
Right from the time of its inception, WhatsApp has been considered as one of the most dependable and genuine messaging services. The app has been attracting new users on a constant basis and following its acquisition by Facebook, the app has been growing at an even faster rate. Throughout 2018, a lot of new features were added to the app that made it more engaging for its users. In 2019, the app is expected to get many bigger upgrades to keep existing users happy and attract even more users to the platform.
