A pregnant woman from Kyrgyzstan and her one-year-old son were found murdered in a flat in the Kalkaji area of southeast Delhi on Tuesday.
According to the police, the woman, Myskal Zhumabaeva, and her son Manas were found lying on the bed with multiple stab wounds. The house belonged to a friend of the deceased, the police said.
Myskal Zhumabaeva, 28, was five months pregnant and lived with her husband Vinay Chauhan in Greater Kailash.
The preliminary inquiry has revealed that Myskal had an argument with her husband on Monday night. She complained of stomach ache and wanted to visit a hospital. However, Vinay left her at home and went to meet his friend Wahid and remained there until morning.
Myskal then called her friend Matluba Madusmonova, an Uzbek national, who took her to the hospital with her friend Avinish, the police said.
After visiting the hospital, Matluba took Myskal and the child to her residence in Kalkaji. The mother-son duo was found dead inside this house on Tuesday morning.
